Hello All -

Because we still do not have CHI back in-network, we have been working on other network options for our SLEBC health plan. CHI and Aetna have still not come to an agreement and no real dates have been given to us for an agreement, we (the SLEBC Board and I) strongly feel that we should explore other options. We have been reviewing disruption reports and network status using our claim history and feel that we have found a viable option. As soon as this is approved, I will share details.

Until a network change happens or CHI is back in-network, below are a few options if you do utilize a CHI provider/facility.

Schedule a visit with an In-Network Provider (for the short-term)
Pay the higher Out-of-Pocket Costs
IF you do not have an In-Network Provider within 50-miles of your home address, claims can be processed as In-Network. This is a clause we already have in our Plan Document. If you find this is your situation, please be sure to notify the care coordinators at 866-274-9478.
Doctor on Demand may be an option depending on the reason for the visit. (When you sign up use SLEBC for the employer.) You can find this information in the attached benefit guide.
If you are looking to have a medication refill, you may want to try to message your provider and explain the situation and ask if a refill is possible with the exception that as soon as the contract is negotiated a visit will be scheduled.
You may reach out to the CHI clinic directly to see if they are willing to negotiate with Aetna. This is unlikely but may be worth asking. If they are willing, they would need to reach out to their Provider Relationship Manager.

Please continue to monitor your emails from me as I will continue to share updates. Also, please pass these updates along with anyone who utilizes the plan - spouses, older children, etc.. The last thing we want for you is to have out-of-network fees that cannot be waived.
